Kaylee -- Kaywinnit Lee Frye -- was a girl from a backwater who stumbled her way onto a Firefly-class transport.

She is also a genius mechanic.

One day, a doctor came on board, cryo-box in tow. Things changed, after that.

For one thing, she married the doctor, eventually, and took his name. After a long time, a lot of fights (and not just with him), and a lot of blood. And a lot of love. Even if things aren't... exactly the best right now. (They're working on it.)

A young woman of twenty-four with fairly simple tastes, she doesn't like guns and she doesn't like fighting, but she'll take up arms when she has to.

(Not that she'll be able to accomplish much with them. Nor would she want to. Except in certain circumstances.)

Kaylee is generally an optimist, and perennially cheerful and kind. (A little inclined to be wary of strangers, though, in Milliways; she's been burned one too many times.) Brown hair, big hazel eyes, generally innocent expression. Usually wearing coveralls. Kaylee's just after a quiet life. Just like the rest of the crew.

Too bad nothing ever goes smooth.
